Air Conditioning Installation in Wiltshire

Keep cool during summer heatwaves

UK heatwaves are no longer a once-a-decade event – they’re becoming the norm. If you’ve spent another summer night lying awake in a stuffy bedroom, or watched a fan just push hot air around the room, a properly installed air conditioning system is the difference between dreading the next heatwave and looking forward to it.

We supply and fit Worcester Bosch air conditioning systems across Salisbury and Wiltshire, with installation starting from £1,700. Because our units are reversible air-to-air heat pumps – not portable plug-in boxes – most residential installations currently qualify for 0% VAT too. More on that below.

How much does aircon cost to run?

This is the question we get asked more than any other, and the honest answer is “it depends” – on your property, your system, and how you use it. But to give a real example rather than a vague estimate: our MD ran his own 3-bedroom home with two indoor units fitted, comparing electricity and gas usage on days with the air con running against days without it.

The difference was far smaller than most people expect. In his words, running it cost roughly the same per day as a can of energy drink – for a cool, comfortable house morning and night. Running costs vary by property, but it’s a useful reality check against the assumption that air con will send your energy bill through the roof.

Pricing and 0% VAT, explained properly

Installation starts from £1,700, with the exact price depending on your property size, the number of rooms, and the system configuration you need. We’ll always give you a free, no-obligation quote before any work is agreed.

On VAT: HMRC currently applies a 0% VAT rate to the installation of qualifying energy-saving materials, which includes fixed air-to-air heat pumps – and that’s exactly what a properly installed reversible system like the Climate 3000i is classed as.

This relief is in place until 31 March 2027. It doesn’t apply to portable or standalone units, only fixed, professionally installed systems, which is one more reason it pays to do this properly rather than buy a box online. We’ll always show this clearly as a single, itemised quote so you can see exactly what you’re paying – and what you’re not.

INTRODUCING THE WORCESTER BOSCH CLIMATE 3000i

We install the Worcester Bosch Climate 3000i, a system built for everyday UK homes and small offices, rather than large commercial spaces. A few of the things that make it worth having:

  • Heats as well as cools. It doubles as an efficient electric heater, A++ ErP rated, so it earns its keep all year round – not just for six weeks of summer
  • Silent mode. Designed to reduce noise output, so it won’t keep you up while it’s cooling the room down
  • i-clean dual filtration. Removes unpleasant odours and harmful gases, eliminates up to 99% of bacteria and up to 95% of dust particles – a genuine benefit if anyone in the house has asthma or other breathing sensitivities
  • Built-in timer. Set it to shut off after 1-5 hours so it’s not running all night unnecessarily
  • Built-in dehumidifier. The Climate 3000i’s DRY mode does double duty as a dehumidifier — so there’s no need for a clunky floor-standing unit blocking your hallway or living space. One wall unit, two jobs.

Meet the daikin Aircon solution

Daikin is one of the leading air con manufacturers throughout Europe, and stands as a strong alternative to the Worcester Bosch. We offer Daikin because some customers prefer the option of a second trusted manufacturer.

A few things worth knowing:

  • European air con specialist. Daikin has built its reputation specifically in air conditioning. Worcester Bosch, by contrast, is best known in the UK for boilers, though it carries excellent brand recognition here too.
  • Parts-only warranty. Daikin’s manufacturer warranty covers parts, not labour. This means any repair work carried out under warranty would be chargeable for labour, unlike the Worcester Bosch, where both parts and labour are covered.
  • A reliable alternative. If you have a preference for Daikin, or simply want a different brand option, we’re happy to install and support it to the same high standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

Installation starts from £1,700. The exact cost depends on your property size, the number of rooms you want covered, and the system specification - we'll give you an accurate, no-obligation quote after assessing your home.

Is air conditioning really VAT-free in the UK?

Not all air conditioning - but fixed, reversible systems like the Climate 3000i currently qualify for 0% VAT under HMRC's relief for energy-saving materials, in place until 31 March 2027. Portable or standalone units don't qualify.

How much does it cost to run day-to-day?

It varies by property and system, but it's typically far less than people expect - our own MD's 3-bedroom home with two units fitted costs roughly the same per day as an energy drink to keep cool and comfortable.

Can it heat my home in winter too?

Yes. The Climate 3000i doubles as an efficient electric heater, A++ ErP rated, so it's a year-round investment rather than a summer-only one.

Will it help with allergies, asthma, or air quality generally?

The built-in i-clean dual filtration removes unpleasant odours and harmful gases, and eliminates up to 99% of bacteria and up to 95% of dust particles - genuinely useful if anyone in the household has breathing sensitivities.

Do you only do residential installations?

No - we install both home and commercial cooling solutions, alongside servicing and repairs for existing systems.
